Chris Beattie to lead Aquaculture Division Merck Animal Health

Merck Animal Health, known as MSD Animal Health outside the US and Canada, has announced Chris Beattie will lead their aquaculture division. He will be responsible for oversight of the strategic direction of the division, including product introductions, life-cycle management and geo-expansion into currently under-developed regions.

“The aquaculture business is a significant global growth opportunity for Merck Animal Health and we are pleased to have Chris, with his impressive background, join our company,” says Fabio Paganini, Leader Food Production Animal Division, in a press release. “His exceptional track record in the industry will help to guide our business to be the undisputed leader in aquaculture health.”

Beattie joins the company from Skretting North America, where he was General Manager. Dr. Beattie received his Bachelor of Science in Marine & Freshwater Biology from the University of Glasgow, Scotland and his Ph.D. in Fish Physiology from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland having carried out much of his practical research work at the Institute of Marine Research in Norway.
